Firstly, clean your footwear regularly, at least once a week, as dirt can impair its performance. Use a soft bristle brush to remove dirt from everyday use. A quality bitumen for waxing gives shine and care to the shoe’s skin. Periodically apply nourishing cream for skins suitable for footwear with a membrane. The use of other products based on fats, oils or silicone, can damage the perspiration capacity of the skin.
Finally, when you need your footwear to be stored for long periods of time, for example when you store your boots from one year to the next, it is advisable to use a last to prevent them from deforming. Keep them away from heat sources and humid areas. If you do not have a last in hand, you can insert a piece of newspaper in its place and give it the shape of the last.
